Tv Casting Call

tv casting call
I'm a 15 year old girl trying to find a casting call for a TV show!?

i have been acting for a couple of years now, and i want to take it to the next level and try out for a show on disney channel or a movie. Does anyone know how to get a casting call or something in georgia??

please help. i don't know which direction to go

Well, I'm fourteen and I've also been acting for a few years. I just recently got back from a model and talent expo. That's where you want to go. Find a good modeling and talent agency near where you live and make an appointment with them. Tell them the things you're interested in and what you want to do as far as acting. They'll tell you what you need to do to get someplace, and you may even go to an expo like I did. Make sure you have a monologue prepared, if you sing, have a song prepared. They're gonna want to know your ability to see if they think you'll make it in the industry. Hope this helped. Good luck!

Casting The First Stone

Casting The First Stone

Tanya Black had deeply believed in her husband's call to preach. And when he asked her to marry him she'd felt blessed to be part of such a future. Sitting in the second row of his Chicago church only a few years later, she is unable to bear listening to his sermons or understand what happened to their shared dream. Blackboard bestselling author Kimberla Lawson Roby takes on one of the most controversial issues in America: corruption and temptation within church leadership. An electrifying read, CASTING THE FIRST STONE goes behind the scenes of a fictional Chicago church and its struggle to keep faith and commitment alive in the face of ambition. This is the third novel of this author whose previous books have won her dedicated fans and a connection to readers coast-to-coast. Her works bring to life Black women whose lives are complex with jobs, children, spouses and lovers - in short the kind of lives her readers themselves live. Giving voice to the women who share their concerns with her has always been Roby's aim in each novel she has written. CASTING THE FIRST STONE listens in on the heart of a woman torn between loving who her husband was and hating who he has become. Roby weaves a fast-paced story about faith's challenges in a world made up of material desires and other physical temptations. Taken right from the headlines, Roby's cautionary tale looks at the other side of church politics and the emotional toll it takes.

Children Movies : Learn with fun

Since from the time of creation of animated and non animated children movies, the world has learn a lot about something innovative for kids. Many of them are Japanese, some of them are Chinese, lots of them are made on cartoons like Barbie, Micky Mouse, Scooby Do and many more. One can see that people used to read the subtitles and still enjoy watching movies.

Some of the animated movies are best for little children as they can't understand its language much, even not able to read subtitles but still they enjoy its animated creation. For animated movies it is easy for director to create any simple story because the whole talent they use to show in creating characters.

The children movies are usually imaginative and full of fantasy. When people think about movies for kids then only animated or cartoon movies come to their mind, but there are lots of other children movie DVDs than these such as movies of super heroes like Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Spy kids and many more. It is surprising that many adults too used to watch these kids animated movies as they are so interesting.

If one like some romance along with a touch of comedy, there are movies that fits that description. Some fantastic and latest children movies that kids really enjoy are :

  • Night at the Museum is back as a security guard who must deal with all too realistic museum displays. With cast of name stars, this one should be fine if children liked the first movie and want more.
  • Up is Pixar's computer animated children movies are usually a no-question required kid viewing. This is all about a grumpy old man voiced by Ed Asner who ties balloons to his house and departs on an aerial adventure.
  • Land of the Lost in which the dinosaurs get a bit rough and the land gets a bit too creepy. Take caution with the small fry of this one.
  • Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the second sequel to the popular animated Ice Age, this one resurrects new animal characters from an earlier era. The trailer looks like for one a great fun.
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that is the sixth time out for Harry Potter is a no-miss for the young Potter fan, and promises many new magical moments as the Harry and his friends struggle with adolescence. Many people think that the series has become progressively darker and becoming disturbing, but older kids should enjoy it.
  • G-Force is a new Disney animated offering a heroic team of guinea pig secret agents who save the world. Will Arnett appears in live-action leader to cute animated rodents that is voiced by Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz.
  • Aliens in the Attic is based on Caldecott award winning children's novel a group of teens protect a family vacation home from gremlins-like aliens. Its features are Hanna Montana's Ashley Tisdale and an experienced monster fighter Carter Jenkins.
  • G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a much hyped action film names an elite team of crime fighters after the classic Mattel toy. Its features are Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sienna Miller.

These movies leave great impact on children. So parents should always be choosy while showing these movies to their children.

Spiderman Comics

Spiderman comics have always been on high demand because they are not only bought by children but also by adults who probably read them when they were kids as well.  Spiderman comics are a Marvel Comic original that made its debut in 1962 and was written and created by Stan lee and Steve Dikto.

In his first appearance in Marvel Comics Spiderman made his debut in a guest appearance spot, but would later have his own comic line. The Spiderman character real name is Peter Parker a quite and unsure fellow, who after he is bitten by a spider which had been used for experiments, which means basically the spider had been given different gene’s that made it stronger, faster and could sense danger when it was near and this what transferred into the young Peter Parker and transformed him to his alter ego the wise cracking, web sling Spiderman.

Spiderman comics became a big hit with the kids as well as with adults and this spun into two cartoons. One cartoon was about Spidey on his own and the other was him and iceman and was called the double duo, which actually was also a comic book. The cartoons then lead to a Spiderman movie which would later be remade in early 2000 into the Spiderman movies which we have come to love. Spiderman also shares the scene with other characters like Mary Jane Watson who is Peter Parkers love interest, then there his Aunt and off course the bad guys like the green goblin and Dr. Doom as well as Doc Octopus. The suit of Spiderman has always been red and blue but there was a time the suit changed to black in 1984 when an alien material or matter attached itself to Spiderman’s suit.

Tv Shows Casting Calls

Since its inception in 1999, “IMJ-Online” has become synonymous with “international modeling success”  by helping aspiring and established models alike to make their presence known on the global stage.

But increasingly IMJ-Online is being used by industry professionals in the video, TV and film world to find new actors and actresses from nearly every region on the planet.  These new faces and new talents are in  high demand as directors seek to inject new excitement and an exotic edge into their productions.   Notably, there has been a flurry of recent booking activity at IMJ-Online focused on capturing the talent bursting out of India and Pakistan.

Why so much interest and excitement in this region?  Christina George, Chief IMJ-Online Editor says, “As global recognition of the high-quality talent currently doing fantastic cutting-edge work in India -- but also in Pakistan --  increases, so does interest in bringing this exciting new talent to productions in other regions of the world.  In acting, the old adage that ‘success breeds success’ is oh-so-true.”

Christine continues, “Actors and actresses with roots and industry experience in India and Pakistan are simply hot commodities these days, not only in Hollywood and New York, but also in some of the other hot film and TV production areas such as Chicago and Texas, Brisbane and Madrid.”

International Models Journal (IMJ-Online) is a global networking medium between models, actors, scouts, casting directors, agents and industry professionals alike (referred to bookers on IMJ-Online). Launched in 1999, IMJ-Online publishes vital news about industry information, casting calls and member stories, guiding hopefuls and professionals around the world to further their careers.

Bookers who seek a broad spectrum of new models and talent, may register at IMJ-Online for free, receiving access to a large database of unique and exotic faces, bios and portfolios. Registered bookers may publish announcements, casting calls and auditions to find the right persons through IMJ-Online.

Registered models and actors may create a portfolio and bio displaying past experiences using photos and text.  The portfolio entries may include runway shows, promotional events, pageants, photo shoots, magazine features/covers, stage entrances and still shots from TV or movie appearances. Bios serve as a complete insight on the model or actor, highlighting their personality including a list of facts like birth, education, work, awards, achievements, dreams, desires, goals and aspirations.

Francisco Vandery, who seeks talent from India for film productions in the eastern United States tells us:  “I regularly – very regularly – consult IMJ-Online because, quite frankly, I don’t have the time to sift through hundreds of poorly-done portfolios when looking for talent to audition for my productions.  I know that when an actor or actress has been accepted by IMJ-Online, I will quickly get a quality description of their experience and talents.  And it’s a site that is very easy to use.  The way the site is set up, I don’t feel that I may be missing some perfect fit for my jobs just because the person is ‘filed’ wrong or that their portfolio is of distractingly poor quality.”

Booker reliance on IMJ quality and professionalism is one of the keys to the modeling-acting network’s success.  Every photo submitted to IMJ-Online is checked by a photo editor.  “We only accept about 65-70% of the photos that aspiring models and actors send us.  I feel that we owe it to the models and actors who register with us to make sure that they present themselves professionally and seriously.   A bad-quality photo of a very attractive person is still a bad quality photo,” says the pragmatic photo editor Susan Birch.

English editors also work with IMJ-Online clients to edit biographical and portfolio entries to ensure that a professional international standard is achieved and maintained.

“Our mind set concerns quality over quantity. We run a professional site, only working with those who are serious about pursuing a career in the model and acting business,” said Miss.  George.

The race to book new talent is tight, but so is the contest to be noticed by industry professionals.  IMJ-Online is helping the supply of talent reach the demand not only for exciting new faces but also for riveting, exotic-yet-familiar on-screen talent.

Reality Tv Casting Call

reality tv casting call

Do you want to “be discovered” and achieve fame and fortune in a hurry? If you’re looking to get famous, you might want to think about reality TV. You may only achieve fifteen minutes of fame, but you could also possibly become a huge star from reality TV.

When applying for a reality TV show, keep the following tips in mind:

The Directions - The most important tip is to actually read the reality TV show application directions and follow them. Directions are included for a reason. If a reality TV show application requests a one-minute audition video and a one-page written bio, send exactly that… not a five-minute video minus the bio. The ability to follow directions is a quality that may help get you cast on a show. Remember…reality TV shows are still TV shows. Production schedules apply and people who don’t follow directions can put a show behind. Also, don’t keep contacting a casting director to ask if casting decisions have been made. If they want to cast you in a show, they’ll call.

The Written Application – Be detailed… no one word answers. Give examples and explain your answers to the questions, but don’t be long-winded, making a two-page application into twenty pages. If you have any interesting hobbies or skills, include them on your application to help you stand out from the rest. Don’t lie on your application! Be honest about everything from your job to your weight.

The Photographs – Many reality TV shows ask for photographs as part of the application. Ideally, send a close-up photograph of your face and another one of your entire body. Don’t send “professional” photographs. Clear, simple snapshots from a regular camera are best. Make sure your personality shines through and that you are the only one in the picture. Don’t send photographs you want returned, because they won’t be.

The Audition Video – Another way in which casting directors explore talent is through audition videos. Most reality TV shows ask potential cast members to send in an audition video. Stay within time constraints and get to the point fast. Casting directors want to see you on an audition video, not special effects or fancy graphics. The most important aspect is your personality. Casting directors look for personality first, so make sure it shows. Simple is best for audition videos. Shoot a clip at your job, at your home, and doing something interesting and unusual, like a hobby. Make sure the lighting is flattering, not dark or shadowy, and that the casting directors can tell what you really look like from the video. Consider having a friend or family member film your video instead of setting up your camera to record yourself. That way, the camera will always follow you and your cameraperson can zoom in or out to create visual interest. Make sure you are clearly heard and that there isn’t a lot of background noise. Don’t forget to put your contact information on your audition video in case it is separated from your written application.

The Open Casting Call – Many reality TV shows cast through open calls. If this is the case for your target show, be ready because you have mere seconds to impress a casting director at a reality TV show audition. Remember, your personality is the key to being cast, so sparkle at the audition. Figure out your “type” before your audition in case the casting director asks. For example, are you the hot muscle guy or the sweet funny guy? Dress in your “type” for the audition. If you think you are the hot muscle guy, then look like the hot muscle guy at the audition.

The best place to start applying to be on a reality TV show is on the website of the network airing the show. Network websites usually have a casting link where you can apply. If you don’t find a casting link for your favorite show, just contact the network through their website contact form for information on applying. There are many networks and production companies that produce reality TV shows, the following are a good place to start:

http://www.nbc.com

http://www.cbs.com

http://www.fox.com

http://www.mtv.com
