Designer Pearl Pendant

When looking for pearl pendants one must take into consideration if they want pink gold, white gold or yellow gold as part of the pearl enhancer.  Some types of colors of gold match better with certain colors of pearls than others.  For example, a 14k. pink gold pearl setting will look very nice with a Chocolate Tahitian or Chocolate pearl.  But pink gold pearl settings may not look great with a golden south sea pearl.  Sometimes the pink and gold can clash a little.  Another nice suggestion for Pink gold is a lavender or Pink freshwater pearl.  This combination looks just as nice as a pink gold setting with Chocolate pearls.  Probably the most neutral color of gold that seems to work with almost any pearl is white gold.  White gold pearl setting in 14k. or 18k looks great with Black Tahitian pearls, Chocolate Tahitian pearls, Pistacio Tahitian pearls, and many others.  New metals are become more popular as fashion changes year by year.  14k. green gold is starting to become somewhat popular in Japan and Hawaii this year.  Some jewelry companies are mixing this 14k. green gold into Hawaiian bracelets and pearl settings.

A new trend that we might see in 2010 is to combine Pistacio Tahitian pearls with 14k. green gold.  This would be very popular if a company would invest the money and time into making this new line of pearl jewelry.  Making new designer pearl pendants in new and exciting gold colored metals are probably the best way to get customers excited about your products.  Another new metal that we might see more of in 2010 is purple 14k. gold.  This new purple gold is actually very purple because of the aluminum that is mixed into the alloy.  Can you imagine how stunning a purple gold setting would look with a fancy colored purple Tahitian pearl?  This would look just beautiful.  It is up to the jewelry designers this new year to more exciting styles that people can enjoy and love.

South America – the Top 10 Destinations This Year Part Three

The previous two parts of this guide explored six possible holiday destinations in South America that were worthy of visiting this year.  As well as well known locations such as Peru and Brazil there are plenty of other locations such as Guatemala’s ancient ruins and the Chilean Desert which can offer all sorts of holidays from adventure holidays to relaxing beach lounging trips.

The final four are locations that you certainly wouldn’t normally expect to see on a list of top holiday destinations but as trends are changing they very well may end up being the must-go-to spots this year.  This final part covers some more northern areas of South America, specifically some Caribbean locations that are becoming popular this year.

4.    Costa Rica
Costa Rica has the benefit of both the Caribbean sea and the Pacific Ocean on either side but despite having a vast amount of coastline it still has vast mountain ranges and not just rainforests but cloud forests.  These forests almost look like they are perennially foggy but in actual fact they are so high up that they are within the clouds.

A lot of nature photography taken of rainforests with the dense clouds interspersed with the trees will likely be of these cloud forests in Costa Rica.  There are plenty of activities and hotels to stay at deep within the jungles themselves.  The aptly named El Silencio lodge and spa is located within the these cloud forest and has a yoga platform, full-service spa and for those looking for more adventure than relaxation can go horse trekking or rafting down a river.

3.    The Corn Islands, Nicaragua
The Corn Islands whilst just off the coast of Nicaragua are still considered to be within the Caribbean Sea.  Obviously like all other Caribbean Islands it has great reefs and coastlines for diving.  Deep sea diving is popular in the region and is becoming a well known spot in the scuba world.

The Corn Islands doesn’t sound too Latin in name; that is because it is a former British Protectorate and has recently been hoisted to the top of the list of best holidays for 2008 by a South American tour company due to its undeveloped land and superb marine life.  There are a few lodges and hotels on the island that people are flocking to this year.

2.    Belize
Belize is quite similar to the Corn Islands as it too is popular for diving with its Caribbean coastline and varied wildlife.  But more than this the southern Toledo district is an immense jungle that you can visit on nature trips to see the bird life in the area.

One particular attraction is the region’s cocoa farms; chocolate fiends will be in heaven as this is where Green and Blacks’ Maya Gold bars are sourced from.  Belize is able to offer both of these attractions: warm Caribbean beaches and dense jungles that can offer a bit of shade.

And now the last of the ten recommended holiday destinations in South America…

1.    Zona Cafetera, Columbia
Columbia is at the top of this list as it is highly tipped to be the most visited South American location this year. With the 'Love in the time of Cholera' being set in Cartagena it will no doubt draw in a lot of tourists from around the world.

Couple that with the New York Times putting Bogotá down as one of the must visit locations this year Columbia is likely to see a large influx of people getting hotels in one of the main cities.

So there you have it, the ten best locations in South America.  Some of the locations listed you may never have heard but many experts on the region have recommended them to the public this year.  If you your holiday yourself you may be able to score cheap hotels if you just want to see the region or you could try one of the luxurious lodges or spas mentioned in this article.  Either way South America has a whole lot to give and will likely turn out to be the hot holiday location for 2008!

The Tiffany Story

There aren't many brand names that rank higher in the world of luxury and status than Tiffany & Co. A study recently conducted by the Luxury Institute reported that T&Co. is the most popular source for made-to-order, one-of-a-kind, and made-to measure luxury goods as preferred by the America's wealthiest consumers.

The pedigreed company opened its doors in 1837 as Tiffany & Young on Broadway and Warren in New York City. Shortly thereafter Tiffany's "Blue Box," which to this day is only used in conjunction with a purchase from Tiffany, was introduced to the public. The box then, as it is now, was symbolic of the guaranteed quality of the product contained inside. When the intent of giving a gift is to make someone feel extraordinarily special, this is the quintessential source to make such a purchase.

Tiffany & Co. specializes in made-to-order items and for its collections of china, sterling-silver flatware, and jewelry. There also is an assortment of superb items for both men and women. The highly valued array of accessories for men include such items as watches, rings, cufflinks, money clips, business card cases, and fragrances. Selections for women include, but are not limited to, necklaces, pendants, charms, watches, rings, earrings, and perfumes.

However, for both men and women, simply listing out the items available is only the beginning. It is the deep-rooted quality that accompanies these goods that makes each one uniquely special. A wide assortment of bridal, , and special gifts for the home as well are available.

Frank Gehry, Elsa Peretti, Jean Schlumberger, and Paloma Picasso are the world-renowned jewelry designers of Tiffany & Co. Mr. Gehry is arguably the greatest living architect in the world with several prestigious awards to his credit, including the Pritzker Prize and the AIA Gold Medal. He designed the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (Spain) and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

Ms. Peretti, who has been with Tiffany's since 1974, is most famous for her Diamonds by the Yard and Pearls by the Yard pieces. These revolutionary jewelry designs inspired many great works from other contemporary artists.

Some of the eclectic jewelry designs of the late Jean Schlumberger's are found in museums. A brooch he designed is the singular piece of jewelry shown at the Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhilarating free-form renderings of Paloma Picasso first captured the attention of Tiffany & Co. in 1979. Ms. Picasso began her foray into the art world as a costumer and a stylist.

Stores are located in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia/Pacific. Catalogs and brochures also are available online. Goods by Tiffany & Co. currently are not available through the Internet. The firm strongly advises shoppers to be aware of goods purported to be from T&Co., if not purchased directly.

fastest ways to get your girl back

Many of us have experienced the devastating pain of breaking up with our other half. However upset and heartbroken we are, usually the only thing we can do is hold our tears and try to forget all the unforgetable memories. We never believe that one day our beloved ones will be touched by our love again, because our society so mercilessly taught us to give up all hopes after failed relationships. And yet today one man's book is gonna change that cliche forever.

The man is T.W Jackson. And the name of the book is the Magic of Making up.

One common side-effect of sweet romance is the heart-wrenching pain it brings when it comes to end. However, in Mr Jackson's book, we are presented convincing techniques to turn our loser state of mind into brand new confidence that eventually wins back lovers' hearts.

Everybody feels depressed and hopeless after a torturing break up. Before the Magic of Making Up, few people thought they could escape from the emotional mire and recover their lost intimacy. In this book, Mr Jackson teaches you a variety of skills to clean up your emotional mess and find the switch that will turn your situation around.
Another original perspective Mr Jackson offers in the book is that some of us tend to become self-indulgent after emotional crisis, and become blind to the hidden message our ex send to us and thus miss the golden chances to get our boys/girls back. At the same time, others take every possible means to please their ex and end up annoying and disappointing their old lovers and forever shutting the door to reunion. For both types of people, the Magic of Making Up reveals a third path which is neither sheer despair nor over reaction and aggresiveness. It gives you practical advice regarding how exactly you should act and what exactly you should say to right the wrongs.
Like all revolutionary thinkers, Mr Jackson, the author of the Magic of Making up is often misunderstood and ridiculed. However, like all revolutionary thinkers, Mr Jackson provides hope to the defeated and opens the gate to lost happiness. Read his book and you will agree with me. Download click here

The Best Milestone Birthday Gift - 10 Easy Tips to Create a Birthday

A birthday memory book is the ultimate milestone birthday gift. To take photos and memories and put them in a "this is your life" birthday scrapbook is a thoughtful act of love that will be immensely appreciated. But what if you're creatively challenged? Does that mean you can't give this one of a kind, personalized birthday gift to that special person?

No, in fact, you don't have to have special talent to create a milestone birthday memory album. Here are 10 simple tips to help you make a birthday scrapbook, even if you don't know what you're doing.

1. Plan early. If you can do this a little bit at a time, without having to rush, it will be less intimidating.

2. Collect all the photos of the birthday boy or girl that you can find, their family, friends, houses they lived in, pets, etc. Then ask for help. Friends and relatives will have photos that you don't have. Ask them to email them to you. Or borrow their photos and scan them or have copies made.

3. Take notes. Ask everyone who helped you with the photos to share memories of the birthday person. Go right to the and interview the birthday boy or girl. When we were working on a scrapbook for my dad, we got him to talk all about old times, without him ever suspecting we were using that information to put together this project.

4. Buy a scrapbook program for your computer, which is a simple way to turn out a professional looking page. If friends and relatives are emailing you photos, the pictures will already be in your computer and all you have to do is "paste" them into one of the software's ready-made templates. Then add your own words and print.

5. If you don't feel comfortable doing this on the computer, get a birthday scrapbook kit from a local craft store. This will contain all the coordinating papers and embellishments. You just have to add the photos and journaling. Make sure you get glue and pens that are acid-free, so they won't damage the photos over time.

6. Think small. Scrapbook albums that are 6 x 6 or 8 x 8 inches are easier and faster to finish than larger books. You'll need less photos. And at those sizes your pages can be printed from any printer and trimmed down to size. Most family printers won't print the larger 12 x 12 inch size.

7. Use cookie cutters, jar lids, etc. to trace around and cut out photos in interesting shapes. On some photos, cut away the entire background, so that the only thing left is the birthday person.

8. One unique idea is to do a theme, such as "40 Great Things About John (or Mary)" if he or she is turning 40, (or 50 great things, if he or she is turning 50, etc.) Ask friends and relatives to email you their lists, and combine them with your own thoughts. Give each person credit in smaller letters after their contribution.

9. Add a "Then and Now" page, with his or her favorites when he was younger and what he or she likes now. List things like favorite TV shows, movies, friends, foods, pets, musical groups, songs, hobbies and interests.

10. Include a page with the title "The Year You Were Born". There are many great websites that have information of everything that happened on the year of his or her birth. Some have detailed listings that range from news items, popular songs, price of milk, and Academy Award winners.

Keep it simple. It doesn't have to look professional. Remember when you were a kid and made cards for Mom and Dad. Those cards couldn't compete with Hallmark on the open market, but to your parents, they were priceless. Even if this scrapbook looks less than perfect, this is the kind of birthday gift that is guaranteed to touch the recipient's heart. Give a handmade birthday memory book and it will be treasured forever.

Tanks & Reels

Learn about the working of photographic equipment such as film reels and film processing tanks.

Sifting through our favorite photo albums is like traveling back in time by going down lane and reliving those precious moments spent with our loved ones. But what keeps our memories from fading away? Of course the camera--one of the best human inventions of all times.

Quiet a lot of work is involved before we finally get to see our everlasting fond memories on paper.

Film Reel

Once the film roll is complete and ready to be developed, it is loaded/ spooled onto a film reel in a darkroom. This involves extra carefulness as portions of the film might not get developed if it has been improperly loaded. A film reel actually looks like a picture on a reel that would rotate and the photographs would show up, one after the other, on a cinema screen like the way cinemas showed movies long time back or like the Hollywood old film reel pictures as depicted in today’s movies.

Basically film reels are used for holding the roll film firmly so that it can be properly developed once inside the film processing tank. The roll takes the form of a spiral so that the film surfaces do not touch and it is uniformly spaced to let the chemical flow freely and touch every part of the film. The reel should be dry as any sign of dampness makes loading difficult.

Film reels are available in either plastic or steel and also in varied sizes to accommodate different films. Steel reels are more durable while the plastic ones are easier to handle by amateur photographers.

Film Reel Brands

Companies such as Peterson, Kindermann etc manufacture film tanks and reels for developing films.

Paterson positions itself as a user-friendly brand by offering the auto-load reel with a smooth finish and a twin ball ratchet system that make film loading very simple.

The 35mm stainless steel reels manufactured by Kindermann are marketed as chemical resistant, easy to clean and unbreakable as they are made from strong nickel steel. It also guarantees to prevent damage as the reel is designed in such a way that there is negligible contact between the film edge and the reel.

Film Processing Tanks

Once the film has been loaded onto the film reel, it is developed using a light tight container called a film processing tank. The photographic film has the tendency to get damaged if exposed to daylight while developing, but with a film processing tank it can be developed in a daylight setting hence these are also referred to as ‘daylight tanks’. The various chemicals required for developing the photographs can be poured inside through the opening in the tank’s lid.

Similar to film reels, the film processing tank comes with different tank varieties and reel sizes to cater to both 35mm and 120mm film. The varieties include stainless steel and plastic tanks. For beginners it is advisable to use plastic tanks as they are cheap and user-friendly. However when processing temperature needs to be controlled, only stainless tanks can be used. Moreover a steel tank can be used either wet or dry unlike plastic tank where the film sticks and gets ruined if the tank is wet.

The core steps for developing photographs are summarized in the following steps:

  1. Prepare all the necessary equipment (tools, chemicals etc);
  2. Spool the film onto the film reel in the dark;
  3. Transfer the reel to the film processing tank sealed by a cap (once safely packed inside, film can be easily developed in daylight without getting ruined);
  4. Pour the developer in the tank and start the agitation process till required;
  5. After agitation is complete, wash the film;
  6. Hang to dry in a dust-free area;
  7. Cut the dry film into strips for printing.

In order to search for film tanks and film reels on sale, photography magazines or websites maybe consulted.

Get the Most from Your Grout Cleaner

Looking for a home for that old toothbrush? Well, you might not even need to get that intense with your bathroom tiles and the dirt collecting in between them. Sort of remind you of plaque? Uh-huh, but all you need is to pull out a good <b>grout cleaner</b> and get cracking! When it comes to the right cleaner, check the label and choose one that sprays out as foam and promises to stick to the surface. You want a product that’s non abrasive and multipurpose. Nowadays, it is possible to find a cleanser that’s a better friend when it comes to the environment. That means better marks for your health too. Check for the absence of phosphates and chlorofluorocarbons, and for the presence of a recyclable container of septic-system friendly stuff when used properly. Plan to use it on a variety of surfaces in your bathroom, from the tiles to the sink and tub, even the vinyl shower curtain. Anything made of chrome, stainless steel, porcelain, or baked enamel. Check the label for more specifics. If you have a shower door, it’s also a good bet to keep it on its track, literally. You might need a different, more specialized brush, though, to fit in the groove. Don’t forget to wipe down your rubber bath mat and plastic garbage can, and that diaper pail. out in the case of colored grout. It’s important to perform a test on a small patch in an inconspicuous spot to check for possible color fading. And make sure you don’t let it sit for a minute on marble surfaces. While bathroom tiles are not exactly like teeth, they do end up being subjected to a good workout when it comes to most families. Unlike dental floss, more like mouthwash, your tile and grout cleaner can help you make sure that your bathroom enamel lasts a heck of a lot longer. And that can only save you time and money in the long run. Prevention, protection, it’s back and forth and back again. When getting down to the nitty-gritty of the job, make sure you spray your cleaner from about six to eight inches away from the surface. Then take a damp cloth or a sponge, instead of that grumpy old toothbrush, to do any necessary scrubbing and wiping. Don’t forget to give the surface a rinse. In no time at all, you’ll have completed the task and be on to the next pressing household mission. It always feels good to know that you’ve conquered all those stubborn soapy films, dirty rings, and grimy corners for another day. But don’t stop there. Don’t lose track of time star gazing into all those shiny surfaces. There’s life outside of there. Once you’ve rinsed out your rag, recycled your toothbrush (oh you perfectionists!), and put away your trusty <b>grout cleaner</b>, you’ll be smiling at a job  well done. Don’t forget to take a moment to do something nice for yourself after all that. You’re worth it!

Once you’ve rinsed out your rag, recycled your toothbrush (oh you perfectionists!), and put away your trusty grout cleaner, you’ll be smiling at a job  well done. Don’t forget to take a moment to do something nice for yourself after all that. You’re worth it!
