Differences between SLR

Whether you are experienced or new in the world of Digital SLR Cameras it can always be difficult to sort through all the brands, models and makes. To assist in finding the right Digital SLR for you, I've compiled a list of four Digital SLR Cameras and explain some of their capabilities and features.

Canon: A great Canon Digital SLR for beginners is the XSi 450D. This easy to use piece of hardware makes splendid photos with the same simplicity of a point-and-shoot. It's equipped with a high transfer rate in read and write with a 4GB memory card, meaning high storage capacity and low battery consumption. Its features include, but are not limited to, a battery pack and charger, USB interface cable and video cable as well as a tripod and an instruction manual. It's a great first for those interested in Digital SLR Cameras.

Nikon: The Nikon D40 Digital SLR is another fine piece of equipment. The D40 features only 6 megapixels fitted onto the sensor, meaning the sensitivity of each pixel is higher. The D40 can shoot 2.5 frames each second and contains an ISO range of 1600 - 200, including an option for HI 1. It also contains in-camera effects and editing functions on a new retouch menu located on the 2.5 inch LCD Monitor. This is a great find for any novice looking to hone his or her skills.

Olympus: For the novice looking to expand his or her knowledge of , The Olympus E420 Digital Camera is a perfect fit. This model features an autofocus with a Live View feature, allowing seamless display of subjects on the LCD screen, just like a point-and-shoot. The Shadow Adjustment feature that comes with this SLR allows for pictures to be taken in otherwise too dark or underexposed scenes. It also features 18 scene select modes for common situations like portrait, landscape or sport. These make sure your otherwise difficult photographs always come out stunning.

Pentax: Last but not least, there is the Pentax K2000 Digital SLR . This SLR has 10.2 Megapixel capabilities along with a 3X zoom feature. The K2000 features Pentax Shake reduction, allowing for clear photos in action situations. It weighs in at only 1.1 pounds and features a simple control layout geared towards those who have just stepped up from compact point-and-shoots to Digital SLR Cameras.

All these models are in the same price bracket and are great introductions into the world of Digital SLR Cameras. Now decide what meshes with your personality and necessities best. Whichever you choose you're guaranteed to be shooting more photos better than ever before.

35mm Camera Reviews

35mm camera reviews

Buying A To Replace Your Old

I'm very conservative when it comes to buying myself new "toys". I don't buy every new gadget that comes out, but when I do buy – I get the latest technology and the highest quality I can afford. That way my investment holds its value for a long time and I'm not tempted to replace it so soon.

I didn't buy a digital camera when they first came out. All you could get were 1 megapixel models with no optical zoom capability. Maybe a good replacement for the cardboard throwaways you get at the supermarket, but I much preferred the quality images I got from my (now 20 year old) Nikon 35mm SLR film camera.

When I finally did buy a digital camera a few years ago, I picked up a slightly used 2.1 megapixel from Olympus digital camera with a 3x autofocus optical zoom. At the time, it was as good a value as you could get when buying a digital camera, but technology being what it is – it's now considered a midrange consumer level camera.

Well, while I'm still satisfied with my Nikon film-based camera, I've been thinking about buying a new digital camera for a few months now. That's because I've seen the amazing shots that my friends have taken with their , and I want to be able to get the same results. In addition, I'm using my 35mm SLR much less these days just because it's so much more convenient to use my digital camera, and I've got a bag full of film that I've never found the time to have developed. It's finally time to buy a new digital camera to actually replace the 35mm camera.

Towards that end, I've been reading online guides and digital camera to catch up on exactly what to look for when buying a digital camera. This research is very helpful, as I evaluate which cameras are easy to use, produce high-quality photos, come packed with features, and are the best bargains. In fact, these resources make the task of buying a digital camera easier than I imagined it would be.

Since I've been doing all this research beforehand, I'm ready to make my purchase now that I've decided that buying a digital camera is the right move for me. I've read about people getting fantastic bargains from online stores, so that's where I'll look first. I also read store reviews as part of my research into buying a digital camera, so I know which websites were trustworthy and which ones to avoid. As a result, I'll be able to complete my purchase without a single problem.

Now that I've made the decision, I really can't remember what was preventing me from buying a new digital camera a long time ago! I can't wait to get it so I can play around with the settings, and try out the different features that are available on these newer digital cameras. If you ask me, this is the way was meant to be.

If you've been thinking about buying a digital camera, I recommend that you go ahead and do it sooner rather than later. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to take pictures with this kind of equipment and how much better the pictures turn out.

The Pluses Of Disposable Cameras

Traditionally, cameras were quite expensive and were used only during special occasions, and mostly by males in a family. With the introduction of cheap and lightweight disposable cameras a cultural shift began, where all members of the family were able to take snaps. Because of its rising appeal, many companies like Canon, Nikon and Konica started producing new models. To stay in race, Fuji introduced new advanced features to its model like waterproofing, inclusion of a flash and panoramic . Kodak's one time use camera was based on 110 while Fuji's QuickSnap always used 35 mm from the beginning.

The single-use camera or disposable camera resembles like an easy box camera, which is sold with a film roll already installed in it; so that you are ready to use. Usually they use focus free lenses. However, some times disposable cameras are equipped with integrated flash unit. Waterproof versions of disposable cameras are also available in the market for the purpose of under water photography.

Internally disposable cameras equipped with a 135 film or APS cartridge. On the other hand, some disposable cameras are equipped with an actual cartridge to load the film normally. Otherwise, the film is just wound only on open spool. Some of the disposable cameras are recycled, means reinstalled with the film and can be resold. Disposable camera is a latest innovation. These types of disposable cameras use technology, and cameras work in the same manner as the film cameras. Normally single use camera represents a return of brownie camera from Kodak. They are especially popular at situations where a reusable camera can be damaged or stolen.

If you buy them in wholesale you can buy them at the lowest rates. Look for sales and specials too. A disposable camera without flash can be bought just for $2. Disposable cameras are very cheap so there is waste of time to look for a cheaper one, but you there are some wonderful deals over there. And it is very important to search a good deal when you wish to buy in bulk amount especially packages that are designed for wedding seasons, graduations, and family reunions. On these occasions you can buy a disposable camera at the lowest cost.

Digital Disposable cameras are available in markets, but are controversial due to their expenses of the process particularly compared to general digital camera and due to poor quality images. These are very popular with tourists, and are helpful during under water photography.

2010 French Quarter Festival, Nab Show, Country Music Awards, Tribeca Film Festival, Focal Awards, Highlight April Media Industry Events

The 2010 International Experimental Media Congress, the first Congress of its kind since the 1989 Toronto Experimental Film Congress, will assemble film, video, new media artists, theorists, archivists, and curators from around the world, who will be in Toronto through April 11 for panels and discussions related to experimental media production, exhibition, dissemination, criticism, pedagogy and reception. The International Film Festival Summit (IFFS) is an annual conference and trade show for professionals from the film festival industry who will be in Amsterdam through April 9 to participate in presentations, interactive panel discussions and networking events, and to look forward to the Dinner With Strangers event that allows attendees a unique and fun opportunity to meet and dine with festival colleagues from all over the world. The 2010 French Quarter Festival, opening April 9-11, highlights New Orleans' signature music, food, and culture in the historic neighborhood, mostly by a musical smorgasbord of jazz, r&b, funk, folk, opera, gospel, blues, and brass bands, but also with over 105 food and beverage booths located in Jackson Square, Woldenberg Riverfront Park, and the Louisiana State Museum's Old U.S. Mint, forming the "World's Largest Jazz Brunch" with local cuisines from the area's finest restaurants including such festival favorites as Jambalaya, Crawfish Bread, Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, Muffaletta, Crawfish, and more.

The annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference and expo for professionals who create filmed entertainment, and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums and platforms, happens this year from April 10-15 in Las Vegas. Comic strip icon, Stan Lee (co-creator of Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Silver Surfer), will be at this year's event, and the NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) in partnership with the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) and Radio-Television News Association (RTDNA) will host its annual spring Career Fair at the NAB Show. Tours and activities in Wine Country sets the theme for the Sonoma International Film Festival as activities interwoven into the festival's daily screenings, happening April 14-18. Leading off the Sonoma Festival will be the world premiere of the documentary, "Coals to Newcastle", about one of Britain's cutting-edge funk bands, the New Mastersounds, who will be in town for the festival and perform live after the screening.

The Beverly Hills Film Festival, a competition festival dedicated to showcasing non-studio films and screenplays of emerging filmmakers in the city generally recognized as the headquarters for VIPs to the motion picture industry, is now in its tenth year, opening for a run from April 14-18, while treating festival goers to nightly theme parties, seminars, and a charity benefit. Nashville Film Festival, an Academy qualifier for short films, opens April 15 this year, through April 22, and because it takes place in "Music City" it is only natural that part of the focus be on music in films. So in addition to the many films about music and the Music Films in Music City awards, NaFF presents showcases, workshops, and other events where songwriters and artists come together with film professionals from Hollywood and around the world to promote collaboration. The 45th Academy of Country Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas on CBS television network Sunday, April 18 at 8 pm (EST), hosted by Reba McEntire. For those fortunate to attend the Awards live in Las Vegas, the ACM All-Star Jam follows the award ceremony featuring impromptu performances from artists who participated in the Awards show. Mediabistro hosts an April 20 L.A. Cocktail Party for professionals in the media industry.  Conversation will be geared toward the latest media industry developments as party hosts, Write On! Online freelance writer, Debra Eckerling, and Kaiser Permanente senior web editor, Michelle Thatcher, help you enjoy yourself and make some great connections.

The mission of the Rincón International Film Festival is to support and promote culture and the arts in Puerto Rico through the medium of film. Rincón, Puerto Rico is also a Surfer's paradise, so the festival is also looking to screen great surfing films, particularly at the beachfront resorts that will be used as screening venues during the festival run, April 20-25. The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is a nonprofit organization devoted to a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing films, honoring entertainment industry performers and business executives, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora. Awards will be presented on April 22 (the festival itself runs April 20-25) at the IFFLA Industry Leadership Award Luncheon held at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The show will include performances by TAAL Dance Collective. Championing the short film format, Filmfest Dresden promotes a film category which is mostly disregarded by cinemas and television. This year, Filmfest Dresden is supplementing its film programmes with an extensive range of special events discussions, receptions and get-togethers such as on April 22 when the Saxony Film Association, the German Short Film Association, Filmfest Dresden, the School-goers Cinema Dresden, the Dresden Narrow Gauge Festival and other institutes are holding a reception where people will have an opportunity to get together for mutual exchanges.

As it usually does, the Tribeca Film Festival in New York will host many free events during its run from April 21 to May 5, for film fans and families, including: Tribeca Drive-In, an outdoor screening series that takes place at the World Financial Center Plaza, where you can watch professional salsa dancers, listen to live salsa music, enter dancing contests, and even take salsa lessons, following the screening of the HBO documentary The Spirit of Salsa. Then there will be the Tribeca Talks: Industry panels touching on all aspects of the filmmaking trade, and The Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day. Opening on April 22 until April 26, Palm Beach International Film Festival, started in 1996 to give the area a foothold in the film industry as well as to benefit the area's community schools through grant and scholarship awards, will emphasize its newly formed Friends of the PBIFF, which offers an array of fun-filled events to raise funds and awareness on a year-round basis for the PBIFF. Founded in 1957, the San Francisco International Film Festival, running April 22 to May 6, is thought to be one of the longest-running film festival in the Americas. This year, SFIFF has an line-up of narrative feature films, live action and animated shorts, television and theatrical documentaries, experimental work, digital media, and industry panels, seminars, awards events, onstage tributes, retrospectives, and the well regarded Schools at the Festival program, which brings an estimated 4,200 grade school students into the festival.

ShowBiz Expo Los Angeles is the west coast counterpart to the show held in New York City in March — but runs for two days, April 24-25. Like New York the Los Angeles Expo includes a wide range of networking opportunities including the Exhibit Hall, Workshops/Seminars, Round Table Discussions, Headshot Displays, etc., and most importantly, live audition opportunities for which there is limited enrollment on a first come basis. MUSEEXPO 2010 will be in Los Angeles from April 25-28, and will incorporate the intimate format that marked its beginnings as organic networking dinners organized by A&R Network and A&R Worldwide architect Sat Bisla, aimed at bringing together friends and like-minded relationships from the global radio, A&R, film/TV music supervision, publishing, new media and artist management communities. In London on April 27, noted film director and FOCAL International's Chair of Patrons, Lord David Putnam, opens the FOCAL International Awards festivities with a champagne reception sponsored by AP Archive, followed by a three-course dinner. FOCAL was formed in 1985 as an international, non-profit professional trade association representing commercial film/audiovisual, stills and sound libraries. The black tie and evening cocktail attire affair ends late with an after party also sponsored by AP Archive.
