How can I find casting calls for movie extras without paying a fee first?

My family and I are pretty skeptic about companies asking for a fee and your personal information first.

But I really want to be a movie extra and I'm having a hard time finding sites that are looking for movie extras in my area.

I tried craigslist, but there was only one notice when I looked up "extra", and when I clicked on it, it was one of those websites that look fishy.

I also don't really wanna sign up for anything beforehand (like for an agency or something).

Anyone know of a good, reliable source for movie extra casting calls?

Keep checking craigslist.org in the "tv/film/video/radio jobs" category in the "jobs" section.

Also, you can check mandy.com for your area. There may or may not be much depending upon where you live.

Also, alternative news weekly newspapers generally list open calls and auditions in their classified sections.

Also, there are trade sites that list casting calls. Check the links below and certainly you do not have to pay anyone to get work as an extra.

How do i put together a photography portfolio for an audition?

I have signed up for GSA (Governers School for the Arts) in Kentucky and I'm putting together my photography portfolio. This is my first so i have no idea how to do it. I have all my pictures and they are 8x10 but what should i put them in? A folder?
I need help please.

While I think Carla has a good point I think what you are asking is what should the content be? In this case and since I think you are trying to involve your potential instructors you should take your work to your previous instructors. Tell them what you are trying to do and ask their advice. Thicken up your skin though. What you think is the best is not always what is. First at this stage go with your advisers. Then as you reach potential after potential go with your gut. Then help the next folks whom you teach. It always comes full circle. Help those like you who were helped early on. The payback is immense. Best of luck.

I am wanting to do children's photography part-time and I was trying to come up with some cute, catchy, trendy names. All of the ones I have thought of has already been used such as Cupcake Photography, Polka Dot Photography, Carousel Photography. plays for a small children's theater group?

my friend and i was both in middle school and every recess we sorda have this "theater workshop" if thats what you'd call it. for the past 3 weeks, we would (we have a couple other i'd say 4 or 5 other people in the group) bring in plays of our own and act it out. now, we're on the singing portion. but i kinda wanna make it into a little theater group where every month we would have our own play and then audition, cast, rehease, and then perform it at the end of the month. what's a good, 30 min. play that's fun that we could do? or maybe we kinda wanna do something from Disney like aladdin, lion king, and just kinda shorten the script a bit. if u have any ideas and LINKS to the scrips I'd give u a full 10 pts.
