Bet Casting Calls

bet casting calls

The HOPA girl, Elyse Porterfield or Jenny DryErase, has become an overnight web sensation by promoting herself over the internet. Although her method was a bit unusual and later revealed to be a hoax, it most definitely did the job. Let me explain. HOPA girl is an aspiring actress from Greeley, CO who has recently packed her bag and moved to LA to follow her dreams. Ms. HOPA aka Jenny Dry Erase was searching for a creative way to get her name out to the mass media and more importantly in front of top industry agents. After some brainstorming with a good friend, they came up with the ingenious HOPA girl, organic marketing plan. Her self promotional campaign has already drawn millions of hits as well as a million visitors to her Facebook account alone. HOPA girls plot was originally believed to be true, but it later turned out to be a hoax. Bummer right? Not so fast...Although this being a true story would have made the morning water cooler talks a bit more tantalizing; her strategy worked whether real or not! I am willing to bet that Jenny Dry Erase is receiving phone calls from some very important people right now. In fact, HOPA girl is probably soliciting numerous commercial deals, acting offers as well as opportunities to be featured in some very popular magazines.

I know you are asking yourself "what does this have to do with real estate?" Well nothing and everything! While Ms. HOPA's marketing ploy does not apply directly to real estate; we can learn some invaluable organic marketing lessons such as:

1) Be Creative- Marketing does not always have to hit you in the pocket book. A simple yet effective organic marketing plan can bring in an overwhelming response (see HOPA girl).

2) Use Media-HOPA girl's success was due to posting her organic marketing plan on several media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs. This quickly expanded because the content was creative, amusing, and unique which captivated readers to share with their friends, who shared with their friends and so on.

3) Be Unique-Like the aspiring actor there are thousands if not millions of agents and brokers trying to stand out to get the next dream gig or client. Most actors mostly use the same techniques in hopes of getting noticed such as having headshots done, going to numerous casting calls, and bombarding agents trying to convince them that they are the next Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt. Likewise real estate brokers and agents promote their own headshots, attend real estate conferences, as well as overwhelm potential clients with tiring email blasts and direct mailers. While these techniques are not bad in concept and sometimes must be done to stay competitive; they lack the creative attributes to separate themselves from the pack.

I challenge all of you to think outside the box and be creative, use social media, and most importantly be unique. How many real estate companies do you think are writing about HOPA girl's organic marketing plan? I would venture to say none!

Decorating With

One of the easiest ways to enhance either a home or an office is with pictures - the difference a single framed painting can make to a bare wall can be huge. However, even more different is decorating a wall with photography, especially personal photography, which can add something completely unique to any room. However, there are certain things you should take into consideration first, to enable the best effect.

The first thing you'll want to consider is whether to have the photograph in black or white. This can be decided by many factors - for instance, in a modern bachelor apartment, a classy black and white photograph will look a lot better than a colorful montage. The same goes for a boardroom or office - staff or corporate photographs will usually look better in color than a black and white print.

However, if you have a really good color photograph and you wish it were black and white (or vice versa), there are ways to achieve this. If the photograph has been taken via a digital camera, you can then upload it to a computer and use a program like Photoshop or similar to edit it. This can give you a myriad of effects - from straight color swap to adding a tinge of sepia to give an air of aging, the possibilities are endless. Even if you've used a traditional stills camera, you can ask for a CD when developing them that the negatives will be transferred to, so you can still upload them to a computer and amend with a editing software program.

Depending on what look you wish to go for in whatever room you're putting the photograph(s) in, the frame is the next choice to make. If you wish, you can purchase different frames for different walls in the same room. Far from them not looking right, the different approach will allow them to be more prominent. Look to match them to your surroundings, if you wish, so that frame blends in with carpet, or rug, or sofa.

The next thing you may wish to consider is whether you want to hang a single picture, or a group together. This is fairly easy to decide - a single photograph picture frame will usually look out of place the larger the wall, so let that dictate your approach. Groups of frames offer a warmer sense of being, especially if it's children and family. Have a collage of school photos from different ages as the central theme, and perhaps miscellaneous family photographs surrounding them to finish an inviting look.

The last thing you really need to decide is whether you wish to use your own photographs, or professional ones from an art shop. This is really down to how much quality you wish to involve. Although obviously not up to the standard of a professional , your own photographs can be of a more than presentable quality, if you're prepared to take the time to get the right shots. However, by mixing photographs from a studio with your own, you can achieve an excellent effect and add that little bit of difference to any room.

Headshots Photography

headshots photography

Looking for acting jobs in TV, film or theatre?  Then you need the right professionals to help you get there.  Your headshot is the first impression you make on those who can hire you.  So why wouldn't you get your Headshots from a professional Headshot ?

Just like you wouldn't got to a doctor to fix a legal issue or a car mechanic to build your home, you want to go to the right kind of photographer for your headshots. This is not to imply that other photographers aren't good at their specialties, just not every photographer will give you photos appropriate for industry accepted headshots. Someone who specializes in headshot will be more efficient and will generally cost you less in the long run by helping you get the right photos the first time.

These are some other types of photographers who may be professionals in their specialties, but not necessarily who you want to go to for your headshots. Some photographers may overlap specialties, but if headshots aren't listed near the top of their list, maybe you want to consider someone else.

For your reference, here are 3 types of good photographers and why these photos might not be helpful in getting you acting jobs.

Photographers

Portrait photographers generally are trained in taking high quality, artistic photos of individuals and families. They work with lighting and backgrounds to set moods and capture amateurs in good-looking photos, but generally not with the same qualities that make headshots different than portraits. Really good portrait photographers generally have packages that include one or two high quality prints often larger than 8 X 10 for artistic display in the family home.

Event Photographers

Wedding photographers, convention photographers, sports photographers who specialize in these and other events are experts at capturing images that portray glamour of a special occasion or capture the essence of live events or catalogue participants or capture movement and excitement of a sporting event. Each is a specific specialty. Some specialize in specific niches within different types of events. You may have a great of your child's sports team. Buy lots of them for you album and family members. Keep one available if a casting needs that particular type of athlete, but don't use them as headshots.

 Mall Photographers

Most shopping mall photographers are franchises. Some have corporate-trained, professional photographers, some do not. They specialize in family or glamour shots. More often than not, they have a variety of backgrounds and props to help set the scene. Headshots require plain backgrounds generally without props or scenes. Some will have very reasonably priced packages for a specific number of prints. Some are very expensive including features seen with portrait photographers. 99% of these photos won't work as headshots and if you truly want a career, you will not try to use these photos for headshots.

Check with your local acting schools, online casting services and other actors to find out about headshot photographers in your area.

How do you configure a generic (not branded) IP/Network Camera so I can view it remotely?

I recently bought a generic IP / Network Camera. It says that I can view it over the internet. How do I configure it so I can view my home from my office? What do I need to do?

More than likely you will need to know your IP address, if you have a dynamic one, it will change. If you have a static, it wont. The only way to configure it would be in the instructions since you dont provide a manufacturer name.

Modeling Makeup

How do I get a Duey, Fresh, Look with ?

Hey. The title is pretty to the point. I'm a beginner makeup artist and I was curious what I should use in order to make my makeup llook really duey other than pearalizer in the foundation??? Thank you for the responses in advance

Well, if she has clear skin, you can look dewy without makeup. Wash your face (or make it moist), and then put moisturizing lotion onto your cheeks, like Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing lotion. Less expensive brands that also work well include Nivea and Eucerin.

If she tends to break out, try mineral makeup. It's pricey, but fabulous. You don't feel or look as though you're wearing makeup at all. Youc an also try putting a very thin layer of your normal foundation and concealer, then mixing cream bronzer with moisturizer, and dabbing that mix onto your cheeks, rubbing it in. Also, try Jergen's lotion for the face (sorry, I forgot what it's called, but it's shimmery). That gives you a glowy, dewy look.

Also, everything I listed for someone with acne-prone skin works for someone with clear skin, too. Just don't use the layer of foundation/concealer.
